The task in this commissioned work was to design a platter for the Finnish team to the world-renowned biennial chefs competition Bocuse d’Or. Our task was to create a showpiece on which the carefully hand crafted culinaristic masterpieces would be presented, in the competition where first impressions are at great stake. We created a platter to resemble the awakening of Finnish nature by telling a story through materials and forms. Our design was inspired by melting ice, reflections on lakes, vast forests and traditional finnish copper pots. Our design was awarded the prize of the most beautiful platter.
