MUHKU is a series of art glass vases, inspired by process-driven, experimental design. The aim was to let go of the need of constantly being in control, and instead let the form evolve freely throughout the process, and take unplanned occurances as opportunities to go further. The idea behind the design is, that there are three triangular molds with the same shape, but with changing vertical angles. When glass is blown to these molds, the bubble separates into three parts from the bottom, forming variations of organically shaped, deliciously bumpy vases called Muhku. Due to the nature of the technique and color used, every outcome is unique and can be displayed as an art piece or as a functional vase. Muhku is an embrace of the coincidental process of design.
